Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced CI/CD engineer to build and operate scalable pipelines for frontier AI workloads. You will define CI strategies for OpenAI’s custom accelerators and lead production-grade pipelines for regression, benchmarking, and release qualification.

You will collaborate across model, compiler, kernel, runtime, firmware, validation, and hardware teams to shorten feedback loops while ensuring production readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating large-scale CI/CD and developer infrastructure.
• Knowledge of GitOps, release promotion, rollback, and reproducibility.
• Experience designing monorepos, build systems and change-impact analysis.

Responsibilities

• Define the model CI strategy for frontier models on OpenAI silicon and accelerator systems.
• Build production CI/CD pipelines for regression, benchmarking, stability, and release qualification.
• Design test matrices across models, configurations, hardware generations, and deployment environments.
• Create performance baselines, regression detection, bisect workflows, and ownership for failures.
• Establish GitOps practices for reproducible configurations, promotion, rollback, and auditability.
• Shape monorepo architecture, dependencies, and developer workflows at scale.
• Develop scalable orchestration, artifact management, caching, scheduling, observability, and capacity controls.
• Collaborate with model, compiler, kernel, runtime, firmware, validation, and hardware teams.
