Job summary

Soul City Church is seeking an Accounting & Finance Manager to supervise financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. The role partners with the CFO and Executive Pastor to deliver timely financial data and strategic budgeting for a growing faith-based nonprofit.

The position emphasizes nonprofit stewardship, GAAP compliance, and transparent reporting. Hybrid work schedule with a focus on scalable financial processes to support mission-driven growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least two years with significant responsibility for the monthly close process.
• Experience in a nonprofit organization environment (or creative agency).
• Demonstrated ownership of monthly/quarterly close, financial statement prep (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), and audit coordination.
• Experience building and maintaining budgets and forecasts.
• Working knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks or equivalent).
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (modeling, reconciliations, data cleanup).
• Ability to translate financial information into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll coordination.
• Lead monthly close and prepare audit-ready financial statements for leadership and stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
• Manage donor reporting and giving records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Improve financial systems and processes for scalability and internal controls.
