Qualifications

• The teacher will have earned a Baccalaureate degree, preferably in education.
• Upon entering into contract to teach at Immanuel Christian School, the teacher is encouraged to work toward an Association of Christian Schools International teaching license and to complete that which is required by A.C.S.I. to obtain a professional A.C.S.I. teaching license.
• State licensure is recommended, but not required.
• The teacher will be regenerated by the Holy Spirit through personal faith in Jesus Christ by the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior.
• The teacher will have a working knowledge of the Bible and will complete studies in the Christian Philosophy of Education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily personal devotional life and be spiritually prepared for teaching.
• Demonstrate love and obedience to Christ and His word.
• Attend an evangelical church and serve in church ministry.
• Share in leading faculty devotions on an alternating basis.
• Provide written teaching plans that align with the school’s scope and sequence.
• Develop plans and methods for evaluating student work.
• Request instructional equipment and supplies as needed.
• Prepare materials and use resources to support instruction.
• Clearly communicate objectives and the relevance of the material being taught.
• Integrate biblical principles as appropriate.
• Evaluate student understanding and mastery of content.
• Demonstrate command and enthusiasm for the subject matter.
• Utilize diverse teaching methods, materials, media, and evaluation tools.
• Reference other disciplines and life examples to enrich learning.
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques.
• Reflect a Christ-like spirit in relationships with students and staff.
• Value time-on-task and manage instructional periods effectively.
• Arrange the learning environment to complement the learning atmosphere.
• Maintain accurate school records and communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
