Job summary

Mentoring Alliance is seeking ministry-minded individuals to join our After School team as Christian After School Counselors. The role focuses on fostering youth development by leading elementary students in enrichment activities in a part-time, non-exempt position averaging 17–20 hours per week.

The role embodies our mission as a ministry and role as a Gospel-centered mentor. Applicants should be 17+, hold a HS diploma or GED (preferred), and be ready to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Must align with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
• Age 17+; HS Diploma or GED preferred and some post-secondary training is highly preferred.
• Passion for working with elementary school students.
• Experience with elementary-aged children is preferred.
• Available Mon-Fri 2:00 PM–6:00 PM during the school calendar year.
• CPR/First Aid certification is mandatory.
• Background/Sex offender check must be cleared.
• Valid driver’s license or valid ID.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.
• Dependable transportation.
• Spanish-speaking ability is highly valued.

The Christian After School Counselor’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. We are looking for an Christian After School Counselor who is devoted to excellence, wholeheartedness, and developing kids to reach their full potential! You have the chance to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community. A Christian After School Counselor is non-exempt, part-time position that average 17-20 hours per week.

At Mentoring Alliance After School, we hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. As a Christian ministry we are geared toward serving kids and students in our community by offering awesome after school care and activities.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
• Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred and some post-secondary training highly preferred
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
• Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
• Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
• Valid driver’s license or Valid ID
• Legally allowed to work in the United States
• Have dependable transportation
• Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued
