Job summary

Star of Hope Mission-Women & Family Development Center in Houston is seeking a part-time childcare aide to care for infants through pre-schoolers 25 hours per week, Monday–Friday. You will implement a biblical and educational curriculum and ensure safety and nurturing in accordance with Texas childcare standards.

Responsibilities include daily care, activities, planning, assessments, and paperwork, while maintaining a clean classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years of college with childcare experience.
• Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with insurance and clean driving history.

Responsibilities

• Provide for the care, safety, and development of children from infant to pre-school age.
• Teach biblical and educational curriculum with age-appropriate activities.
• Implement weekly lesson plans for developmentally appropriate learning.
• Conduct assessments of social and emotional skills and support development.
• Meet daily needs including diapering, feeding, and hygiene.
• Support children and families with encouragement and guidance.
• Respond calmly to behavior, offer redirection, and provide one-on-one support.
• Complete paperwork such as logs, rosters, meal counts, and diaper changes.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized classroom environment.
