Abundant Life Christian School & Childcare is seeking a Certified Assistant Substitute to provide a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for children. You will support development across spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and cognitive domains through Biblically based activities and daily routines.

You will follow lead plans, partner with families and colleagues, and help maintain a clean, organized classroom while upholding licensing regulations.

Qualifications

• Childcare experience is preferred.
• Acquire CPR and First Aid within 6 months.

Responsabilités

• Lead the group when the Lead Teacher is out.
• Provide daily structure, guidance and care for children.
• Follow learning plans and interactive activities.
• Integrate Biblical worldview into interactions and learning.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized classroom environment.
• Supervise children at all times and log attendance weekly.
• Participate in required trainings/events and staff meetings.
• Monitor health and wellbeing of children.

The Certified Assistant Substitute is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for children in their care. This role focuses on helping to foster each child’s spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through developmentally appropriate, Biblically based care and education.

The Certified Assistant Substitute will model Christ-like character, professionalism, reliability and teamwork. They will support each child’s individual growth, and partner with families and colleagues to ensure excellence in early childhood education consistent with the purpose, values and strategy of Abundant Life Christian Childcare.

Responsibilities

The Certified Assistant Substitute shall include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Take on responsibility for leading the group when the Lead Teacher is out.
• Providing appropriate daily structure, guidance and care that meets the growing needs of the children.
• Follow written plans for implementation of learning rich activities, interactive play that encourages developmental growth in all areas.
• Utilize teaching methods that accommodate diverse needs, abilities, and interests.
• Integrate Biblical worldview and Christ-like values into all interactions and learning opportunities.
• Provide attentive, loving care and support for children, in all areas including bottling, feeding, diapering, toilet training, and self-help skills.
• Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean, and organized at all times.
• Provide appropriate child supervision at all times.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance and update required logs and records weekly.
• Follow all health, safety, and universal precaution policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families, co-workers and administration.
• Use effective verbal and written communication with families, co-workers and administration.
• Follow instructions from the lead teacher when substituting including items such as schedules, routines, and developmental notes.
• Participate in required meetings, trainings or events.
• Help monitor children’s health and well-being.
• Participate in and receive required yearly EEC professional development training (minimum 20 hours annually).
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and staff.
• Uphold EEC licensing regulations.
• Complete tasks assigned by directors per needs of the center with flexibility.

• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

Certification

• DEEC-Certified Teacher (Massachusetts)

Requirements

• Acquire within 6 months and maintain CPR and 1st Aid. Perform duties involving walking, running, bending, lifting and moving equipment or children (up to approximately 35 lbs.) as needed.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay Range: $15-$19
