Job summary

The Salvation Army Army Lake Camp is seeking a Seasonal Recreational Counselor to teach, lead, and supervise campers in a Christ-centered environment. You will promote safety, spiritual growth, and active participation in challenging activities.

Training through the Program Manager and divisions ensures readiness. Must be 18+, physically able to handle high-energy activities, and reside on campgrounds for the season.

Qualifications

• Must be a committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience with high-energy, physically demanding activities.
• Holds current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification or is willing to obtain certification.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must reside on campgrounds for the duration of employment.
• Demonstrates initiative, dependability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exhibits attention to detail, positive attitude, and flexibility.
• Supports and upholds The Salvation Army mission and Army Lake Camp.
• Displays passion for ministry and mentoring youth in a Christ-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete all pre-camp trainings and staff meetings.
• Teach, lead, and supervise campers in activities.
• Ensure safety and alignment with camp goals.
• Assist with setup/cleanup of program areas and events.
• Support childcare responsibilities when assigned.
• Attend worship services and staff devotions; promote spiritual emphasis.
