Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• Valid Kansas teaching license with music endorsement as required for the position.
• Knowledge of vocal music instruction, choral techniques, music theory, and curriculum development.
• Teaching, student teaching, or related music education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging vocal music instruction aligned with district curriculum and standards.
• Teach vocal techniques, music literacy, sight-reading, music theory, and performance practices.
• Direct and prepare students for choral rehearsals, concerts, and performances.
• Select musical literature supporting student development and program objectives.
• Differentiate instruction and provide accommodations for diverse learners.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and manage behavior.
• Collaborate with staff and community partners to support student success.
• Demonstrate knowledge of vocal health, rehearsal techniques, and safe equipment use.
• Maintain accurate student records and communication with families.
