Job summary

East Texas A&M University’s School of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Music (Director of Choral Activities). The Director will lead the University Chorale and Chamber Singers, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in choral conducting and literature, mentor students, and contribute to growth and visibility of the choral program.

The role includes an administrative release with duties set by the Director and School of Music needs;

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience in choral conducting and ensemble leadership.
• Ability to direct and develop choral ensembles and repertoire.
• Experience shaping curriculum and pedagogy in music education and choral studies.

Responsibilities

• Direct the University Chorale and Chamber Singers and oversee artistic development.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in choral conducting and choral literature.
• Recruit, retain, and mentor students; engage with external partners and communities.
