Description

Part-time accompanist beginning with the 2025-26 academic year. Accompany the College Choral Ensemble and the Choral Union during the Fall semester. Approximately 5-9 hours of accompanying per week. Eight Month Position – Fall & Spring Semester (Late August-Late December; Late January-Late May). GU Choir will rehearse Mondays and Thursdays 3:30 – 5:00pm. Accompanist should be available to work with the choir director 15-30 minutes before rehearsals as needed. In addition, the Choral Union will begin rehearsing Monday evenings 6:00 – 7:30 from mid-Sept. until the Messiah performance Dec. 7th. There will also be a 3-4 day GU Choir tour during Spring Break.

Salary Band: $29,250-$88,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or artist diploma.
  • Choral and general accompanying experience required.
  • Excellent reading skills. Ability to play open score.
  • Evidence of successful collaborative work with soloists, as well as in choral setting.
  • Strong technical and musical skills as a performer.
  • Acquaintance with both classical and some commercial musical styles required.
  • Commitment to working with undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance; be in sympathy with and supportive of the Christian mission of Greenville University. Some night and weekend responsibilities required.
