Pay Range: $37.72 - $49.63 per hour + Sign On Bonus Eligible

Job Description:

A Registered Nurse in the Mental Health Department provides comprehensive emotional and physical care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an inpatient setting, working within a strong interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, communicating effectively with patients and team members, and prioritizing nursing actions based on patient needs. The role involves continuous assessment and care plan adjustments, triaging MH patients in collaboration with PSA and charge RN, leading code orange situations, and communicating with nursing supervisors about MH acuity levels.

This is a floating RN position working across the ED, Adult MHU, and Adolescent MHU.

Qualifications:
  • Valid New York State RN License
  • Preferred: 1 year medical/surgical experience
  • Crisis Intervention Training (provided during hospital orientation)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform intervention tasks and support patient safety
  • Physical ability to bend, lift, stand, and walk
Additional Information:

The base pay range is a good faith estimate and may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and other factors. Pay includes shift differentials: $2.50 for hours between 3p-11:30p and $3.50 for hours between 11p-7:30a, requiring at least 4 hours of work within these times.
