Job summary

Excelsia Injury Care is seeking a full-time Chiropractic Assistant to support patient care and office operations. The role involves assisting the Doctor of Chiropractic, taking vital signs, documenting progress notes, and maintaining treatment rooms across locations.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification, and at least one year of office experience in physical therapy or chiropractic settings.

• Minimum 1 year experience in an office providing physical therapy and/or chiropractic care.

• Ability to interact effectively with doctors, patients, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients pre- and post-care by the D.C.
• Take vital signs of patients.
• Perform physical therapy modalities as directed by the D.C.
• Accurately document modalities performed and patient progress notes.
• Maintain cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms.
• Monitor controls on physical therapy equipment.
• Launder towels, gowns, heat pack covers, etc. as required.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies.
• Assist in general office operations including filing, chart prep, phones, registration, posting charges, scanning, cleaning, etc.
• Travel to other locations as directed to maintain adequate coverage for quality patient care.
• Assist in maintaining office in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
• If Floater Certified Chiropractic Assistant, travel to all locations within region as needed for coverage.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Job Duties

• Assist patients pre and post care by the D.C.

• Maintain cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms at all times


• Monitor controls on physical therapy equipment


• Launder towels, gowns, heat pack covers, etc. as required


• Maintain inventory and order supplies


• Assist in general office operations as needed including filing, prepping charts, answering phones, patient registration, posting charges, scanning, cleaning, etc.


• Travels to other locations as directed to maintain adequate coverage for quality patient care


• Assist in maintaining office in a neat, clean and orderly fashion


• If considered a Floater Certified Chiropractic Assistant (this would be mutually agreed upon), the Employee must travel to all locations within their respective region as needed for coverage


• Perform other duties and assignments as directed and/or as necessary

Motor Vehicle Report Monitoring

In the event Employee does not maintain the insurance coverage required under this Policy & Procedure, and/or does not maintain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle, that Employee shall not be eligible for mileage reimbursement and is barred from operating any motor vehicle in furtherance of Company business. Operating a motor vehicle in furtherance of Company business without a valid state-issued driver’s license to do so and/or maintain insurance of the type and amounts set forth herein shall subject the Employee to immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination.

High school diploma or GED equivalent
State Certification or enrollment in an approved course of study to include 20 observation hours and 520 clinical hours of in-office training to become State Certified within one year of employment (requirements vary by state)

• Certification in CPR and/or First Aid. Must be maintained throughout employment


• 1-year experience in an office providing physical therapy and/or chiropractic care


• Tact and skill in patient management


• Excellent communication and organizational skills


• Ability to effectively interact with doctors, patients, and co-workers

Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
