Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Chinese Mandarin Linguist/Instructor to support global and cryptologic language training for military personnel, with assignments at Fort Bragg, Cannon AFB, or Hurlburt Field.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, ILRT level 3 in Chinese, a degree, and 1–4 years in military/intelligence, language teaching or translation. Travel 20–25% and flexible hours to accommodate time zones. Assignment through September 2027.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current TS/SCI security clearance
• ILRT level 3 or higher in Chinese Mandarin and advanced working English proficiency
• Bachelor's degree in Chinese Mandarin language/Applied Linguistics/language teaching preferred
• 2-4 years of military or intelligence experience
• 1-3 years of language related experience
• 1+ years’ experience in producing translation and language-related services
• 1+ years’ experience providing language instruction (cryptologic language instructor experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Chinese Mandarin (speaking, grammar, phonology)
• Willingness to travel 20-25% to support 1-3 classes per year
• Flexible with work hours to accommodate online training across time zones

Responsibilities

• Provide global language, cryptologic, language, and cultural training to military forces and civilian personnel through classroom instruction, written materials, and technology-based learning
• Develop and integrate new training materials, curriculum, and courseware for US Government approval
• Adapt instructional methods to meet student goals and time constraints
• Advise Language Manager and military representatives on assessment and training needs
• Track student progression and report effectiveness of training
