Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking an HVAC Technician (Chiller Specialist) in Guam to operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and large chiller systems for federal facilities.

The role requires EPA 608 certification, a high school diploma or equivalent with HVAC training, and at least three years of hands-on experience. Strong troubleshoot abilities and BAS/DDC familiarity are expected; on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 certification required; Universal preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal HVAC/refrigeration training preferred.
• Minimum of three years of HVAC experience with commercial/industrial chillers.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and chilled-water systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and chiller systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain chillers, chilled-water systems, cooling towers, pumps, piping, valves, and related equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and operating conditions to prevent failures.
• Service BAS/DDC controls, sensors, actuators, and VFDs; readjust as needed.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, leak detection, evacuation, charging, and testing per EPA rules.
• Document maintenance activities and coordinate with other teams.
• Respond to service calls and meet contract-required response times.
