Position Overview

The Children’s House Guide is responsible for leading a Montessori classroom serving children ages 3–6 and ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment aligned with Montessori philosophy and school expectations.

This role includes preparing and maintaining the classroom environment, guiding student development, planning and implementing lessons, maintaining student records, partnering with families, and collaborating closely with classroom support staff and school leadership.

The Children’s House Guide works collaboratively with school leadership and staff to support student growth, classroom consistency, and a strong school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain an engaging Montessori classroom environment aligned with Montessori principles and school expectations
  • Guide students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate Montessori lessons and classroom activities
  • Maintain accurate student records and classroom documentation
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with classroom support staff and school leadership to ensure classroom consistency and student success
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development

Qualifications
Required
  • AMI Montessori Primary Diploma or AMS Early Childhood Credential
  • Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic technology toolsAbility to meet all applicable background check and regulatory requirements
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or related field
  • Prior experience in a Montessori Children’s House environment
  • Experience using Transparent Classroom or similar student documentation systems
Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role requires active engagement with students throughout the school day, including:

  • Frequent movement throughout the classroom and outdoor environments
  • Supervision of children indoors and outdoors
  • Standing, walking, bending, and assisting students throughout the day
  • Working in a dynamic environment with frequent transitions and interruptions
