Job summary

KidStrong Paradise Valley is seeking a talented Children's Coach to engage with both parents and kids and to make a meaningful impact on their development. The role emphasizes brain, physical, and character growth through our evolving curriculum.

The coach will lead classes for 6–15 children, ages roughly 12 months to 11 years, following HQ-provided programming. A flexible schedule and a positive, energetic attitude are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable.
  • Prior coaching experience with the KidStrong age range is preferred.
  • Ability to educate parents on the curriculum and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Coach classes of 6 to 15 children from 12 months to 11 years old.
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum provided by HQ.
  • Ensure classes start and end on schedule and maintain appropriate pace.
  • Greet students and parents/guardians at the start of class.
  • Maintain a dynamic, motivating, professional demeanor throughout sessions.
  • Keep the center clean and sanitize equipment after shifts.
  • Record class data and attendance in the KS Coach app.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues via Slack.
  • Complete required HQ training and certification.
  • Be physically active during shifts, assisting with equipment as needed.

The KidStrong Childrens Coach - Role and Schedule Details:
  • We are looking for a coach with athletic or coaching experience who ideally has experience coaching kids ages 12 months to 11 years old.
  • KidStrong Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from the evolving monthly curriculum
  • The ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding "the why" behind the KidStrong curriculum
  • Our classes run typically weekdays, 9 am -11 am and evenings until 7 pm, and weekends are typically from 8 am through lunch/noon.
  • Opportunity for a flexible work schedule depending on studio needs.
  • Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours.
  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus but not required!
Kidstrong Childrens Coach Responsibilities:
  • Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups range from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at the beginning of class
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
  • Effectively use the KS Coach's App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
  • Complete training through FranConnect as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
  • Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
  • Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of a class
  • Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next month's curriculum
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the KidStrong Director
  • Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Academy - special classes held by centers when local schools are not operating (for example Winter Break, Summer Break)
  • Must obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next month’s curriculum
KidStrong Childrens Coach Qualifications:
  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred
  • Prior experience speaking to and educating parents on the KidStrong curriculum
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics
  • CPR certified
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who just gets a job done
