Job summary

Compass Church in Roanoke, TX is seeking a full-time Children’s Ministry leader to coordinate weekend worship experiences for various age groups and oversee planning and execution of engaging programs. The role includes supervising staff, budgeting, and partnering with families to nurture spiritual growth.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, at least five years in Children’s Ministry with supervision experience, and strong communication and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or in progress.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Children’s Ministry, with prior supervision experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee planning for age-appropriate weekend worship experiences (music, video, teaching, games, and other creative elements).
• Communicate with parents to keep them informed and strengthen church-family partnerships.
• Oversee curricula and programming from Central Kids Min and align with the church vision.
• Provide coaching and feedback to Children’s Team members to improve outreach.
• Supervise Children’s Programming and collaborate with staff and volunteers for events.
• Lead and plan summer camps for the Roanoke campus and support other campuses as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and lead Children’s Ministry Team meetings as required.
• Budget planning and forecasting for Children’s events; document improvements for planning.
• Oversee spending within the Children’s budget and supervise team members, including timecards and PTO approvals.

Objective

Coordinate and oversee planning and be involved in the execution of exciting and dynamic age-appropriate worship experience every weekend (including worship and music, video, teaching, games, and any other creative elements).

Essential Job Functions

• Communicate consistently with parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities as well as providing the tools they need for spiritual leadership. Effectively help build a strong partnership between church and family
• Coordinate and oversee administering the comprehensive standards, curricula, and programming elements from Central Kids Min, and ensure its successful implementation and alignment with the overall vision of the church
• Encourage, Coach, teach and provide insightful and critical feedback to Children’s Team members to improve reaching more children and families.
• Supervise and be a servant leader in Children’s Programming, working alongside staff and volunteers in programming and events.
• Lead, plan, and run summer camp for the Roanoke campus and be willing to pitch in for the other campus’ weeks of camp
• Attend ministerial staff meetings weekly, lead Children’s Ministry Team meetings, and other staff meetings as needed.
• Lead children’s staff in planning dynamic and age-appropriate events. Including budgeting and forecasting events. Lead the team in evaluating events after the fact. Ensure improvements to be made are documented for planning purposes.
• Oversee and work with responsible team members prioritizing spending within the Children’s budget.
• Supervise team members. This includes providing ongoing feedback to team members and documenting as needed.
• Approve timecards and PTO when applicable.

Work Schedule

• Full-Time
• Regular Office hours Monday - Thursday.
• Be present at all weekend services.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred or working towards a bachelor’s degree
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Children’s Ministry; preferably in a variety of ages, infant through 5th grade. Previous supervision experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skills/Abilities: Effective communication skills to communicate in writing and verbally with a variety of audiences. Ability to lead staff in planning dynamic and age-appropriate events. Including budgeting and forecasting events
• Physical Requirements: Ability to handle the physical demands of this position which include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, and must be capable of lifting to 50 pounds on occasion.
• Requirements of Compass Staff: Must have a servant’s heart for ministry, serving with a positive attitude and spirit. Must be of moral and spiritual integrity in all areas of your walk and life. Every staff member is expected to fully engage in the ministry of the church. This includes attending a weekend service and tithing.
