Job summary

Page Public Library seeks a dedicated professional to manage year-round children’s library programs and services. You will assess, process, and catalog children’s materials, provide reference services to children and teachers, and handle circulation tasks in the Children's Library.

Responsibilities include developing child-focused programs, supervising staff and volunteers, and collaborating with the community to promote reading and library resources.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree; and

• Provide excellent customer service to ensure the highest quality of service.
• Develops and conducts programs for children, caregivers, and parents which encourage reading, viewing and listening skills, and the use of library facilities and materials.
• Administers annual summer reading program for children.
• Prepares and delivers a regular series of story hours for preschool-age children and their parents/caregivers.
• Serves as primary children's services reference librarian and assists patrons in using the online catalog and other electronic tools.
• Reads standard professional reviewing media to identify items that are age appropriate.
• Trains and supervises staff and volunteers assigned to the Children's Department.
