The New York Chinese Alliance Church (NYCAC) on the Lower East Side invites applicants for a Children’s and Family Minister to lead ministries to newborns through school age children and their families in a diverse urban context.

The selected candidate will develop, lead and model hospitality, oversee worship and Sunday School teams, and partner with families while engaging in outreach and pastoral care within NYCAC’s multi-congregational setting.

Qualifications

• Growing commitment to the Christian faith and church community.
• Assent to CMA Statement of Faith, including Biblical inerrancy.
• MDiv or equivalent bible college degree in progress or completed.

Responsabilités

• Develop spiritual vision, goals, and objectives for children’s and family ministries in line with the church's overall vision.
• Develop ministry and outreach, including preaching and teaching, to families with newborns, toddlers, and elementary school-aged children; lead outreach teams.
• Lead, mentor and shepherd families by discipling parents/primary caregivers and encouraging biblically complementary roles for husbands and wives.
• Lead and shepherd the Children’s and Toddlers’ Worship and Children’s Sunday School ministry teams.
• Assess ministry needs and develop programs and activities (Easter, Christmas, VBS, tutoring, etc.).
• Develop a climate for children and families that is safe, supportive, and fosters spiritual growth.
• Participate in pastoral care, counseling, and home visitation to children and families; welcome newcomer families.
