Job summary

Lakeshore Sport & Fitness in Chicago is seeking an energetic Childcare Lead to join our Children’s Programming team. This is a full-time, salaried role in charge of the day-to-day childcare experience across the baby room, play room, and playground.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with children, CPR/First Aid certification, and strong communication with parents. You will lead activities, train staff, and create a welcoming environment for families.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience working with children.
• Experience with a variety of ages: infants to elementary-aged.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and at least 1 weekend day.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations in the childcare area (baby room, play room, playground).
• Support events such as Parents Night Out, Family Game Nights, Private Events.
• Provide attentive supervision for children from newborn to ~10 years old.
• Create and maintain a schedule of age-appropriate activities and play.
• Develop a fun, welcoming environment encouraging return visits.
• Build relationships with children and families; provide excellent customer service to parents.
• Communicate confidently with parents regarding their children's experiences and needs.
• Ensure childcare areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Help train and support childcare team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve the children's experience and programming.
