Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers, following a menu developed by our in-house nutritionist. You’ll ensure kids have fuel to learn and grow.

This role requires safety, documentation, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, English communication, and prior institutional cooking experience. Minnesota centers offer a $3.00/hour premium on classroom hours.

Qualifications

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
• Familiarity with proper food storage and allergy considerations
• Follow nutritious menus and prepare quantity for center population
• Basic math skills for measuring and portions
• Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain
• 1+ year of institutional cooking; 2+ years with children preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and equipment safely and hygienically
• Order food and supplies
• Dispense and store medication, as requested
• Complete timely documentation per licensing requirements
• Help with daily center duties as needed
• Support center goals around enrollment and engagement
