Job summary

The Yakutat Tlingit Tribe is seeking a Childcare Provider to ensure the health, safety, and development of children in the tribe’s day care. The role involves planning age-appropriate activities, maintaining records, and communicating with parents while complying with tribal and state regulations.

Work is non-exempt, wage is $20.70 per hour (DOE); includes duties from safeguarding children to administering meals and first aid as trained. This is a position within the Human Services department.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required (training can be provided).
  • Must present valid Alaska driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Must successfully pass criminal history and background checks; FBI background check may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, nurturing environment for children 0-10 years old.
  • Comply with Alaska childcare regulations and tribal policies.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
  • Maintain attendance, health, and development records.
  • Communicate with parents about activities and progress.
  • Administer meals and basic first aid as trained.
  • Ensure safety and health through proper supervision and incident reporting.
