Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking a Bus Driver in Havelock, NC to provide safe, reliable transportation for students and support classroom activities with a Lead Teacher. You will engage with children during daily activities and help create a warm, stimulating learning environment.

In this role you will observe and share notes with teachers, communicate with families, and assist with attendance and daily reports. A focus on safety, teamwork, and ongoing professional development is valued.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and a safety focus.
• Strong communication and family relationship skills.
• Clean driving record.
• Physically able to work with young children.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-time, safe transportation for Before and After School programs.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through daily communication.
• Assist with attendance and daily reports.
• Maintain a safe Bus environment.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom meeting licensing and ratio requirements.

Childcare Center Bus Driver - Havelock, North Carolina

Your role

As a Bus Driver at Child Development Schools, you will support our center by providing safe, reliable transportation for our students to and from school and/or activities. You may also be supporting classrooms, working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements

• Provide on time, safe and reliable transportation for our Before and After School programs

• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time

• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher

• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication

• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

• Maintain a safe Bus environment

Pay and benefits

Pay: 13-15 per hour, based on experience and education.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required. We hire characters and train for skill.
