Child Development Schools in Bristol, VA is looking for an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher and help create a warm, engaging classroom for toddlers and preschoolers.

You will participate in hands-on activities, observe and note developmental progress, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment while communicating with families. This role emphasizes growth, curiosity, and a positive learning experience for children.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the Toddler or Preschool classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What Your Day Looks Like

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the Toddler or Preschool classroom

Pay And Benefits

Pay: 13-15 per hour, based on experience and education.
