Job summary

Pacific Air Forces, within the Department of the Air Force, is seeking a Child and Youth Program Assistant (Leader Level) in the School Age Center. The role leads program staff, ensures safety, and organizes activities for children and youth from 6 weeks to 18 years old, with an emphasis on positive interactions and development.

Hours are 6:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. This is a part-time position guaranteeing 20 hours per week and includes an employee child

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising or leading staff in a child and youth program preferred.
• Ability to manage safety and supervision of children and youth.
• Strong communication and coordination with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a team leader for program staff with responsibility for the operation and program in accordance with applicable regulations in one or more child and youth programs.
• Oversees arrival/departure of children/youth and maintains staff/child ratios.
• Plans, coordinates and conducts activities based on observed needs of individual children/youth.
• Assists children and youth with special projects, homework and life skills.
• Interacts with staff, parents and volunteers in a professional manner.
• Provides input to supervisor on promotions, reassignments and performance.
