Job summary

State of Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide clinical consultation and care coordination for child welfare cases. The RN will assess medical needs, review records, and collaborate with hospitals and Medicaid MCOs to support placement decisions and care planning.

Responsibilities include triage of complex cases, field visits, and participation in QA activities, with a schedule typically Monday–Friday and travel across parishes as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana RN license or multi-state license recognized by Louisiana is required.
• Background clearances as per Louisiana HB 420 required.

Responsibilities

• Provides real-time clinical consultation to child welfare staff at intake, investigation, and case management stages.
• Conducts nursing assessments and reviews medical records to identify safety concerns.
• Serves as liaison between child welfare staff and healthcare systems.
• Participates in triage of complex cases and informs case planning and escalation.
• Contributes to quality assurance and data tracking for program evaluation.
