Job summary

Veritas-HHS LLC in Asheville, NC, seeks an Attorney to handle designated caseloads and represent the State Child Support Program across Buncombe and Transylvania counties.

You will work with case managers, provide legal guidance, review consent agreements and other documents, and prepare witnesses while staying current on child support law and policy to ensure actions meet state requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney and member of the North Carolina Bar.
• Experience practicing domestic relations and/or child support law is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with judiciary, court, State and County agencies, and community partner staffs.
• Attend and respectfully represent the State IV-D program in all judicial and administrative hearings involving Title IV-D cases.
• Provide legal advice and counsel on courses of action for child support enforcement to fulfill contract requirements.
• Review consent agreements and other legal documents.
• Sign legal pleadings and prepare witnesses for hearings.
• Stay up to date on child support law and policy.
• Serve as a team member to ensure a total quality approach.
• Other related duties as required.
