The State of Indiana, Department of Child Services, is seeking a Child Services Attorney to provide legal advice and services across juvenile law areas related to Child Welfare, Child Support, and personnel matters. You will assist and represent DCS in court and administrative issues, including CHINS, TPR, and adoptions.

The role offers immediate trial experience, a 37.5-hour week, and collaboration with Family Case Managers to prepare for hearings. Indiana accepts the Uniform Bar Exam.

Qualificações

• Doctorate of Jurisprudence required.
• Indiana Bar Admission with license in good standing OR admission to the bar of any state with willingness to obtain temporary foreign license status.

Responsabilidades

• Advise DCS staff on program and legal areas as assigned.
• Lead courtroom litigation in support of child welfare cases; manage discovery.
• Draft legal correspondence and reviews of legislation and administrative rules.
• Litigate CHINS and TPR cases in State Courts representing the agency.
• Prepare for hearings with Family Case Managers and supervise staff as needed.
