Job summary

The Department of Neurology at MCV Physicians is recruiting two full-time faculty members to join our Division of Child Neurology. The positions will provide patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings, participate in medical student and resident education, and engage in clinical research.

Responsibilities include teaching conferences, Grand Rounds, and leading clinical trials, with service on committees as needed. BC/BE in Neurology with Child Neurology qualifications required.

Qualifications

• BC/BE in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology.
• Completion of an accredited Child Neurology training program.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Primary clinical responsibilities include care of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings with an emphasis on Child Neurology.
• Teaching Faculty member will teach medical students and housestaff. They will be expected to organize and develop a series of formal conferences for the housestaff and students emphasizing issues in Child Neurology. They will attend weekly Grand Rounds and lecture upon occasion as requested.
• Research The Division of Child Neurology is engaged in clinical and translation research projects. The faculty member will be expected to participate in, and when appropriate lead, clinical research and clinical trials.
• Service Faculty member will serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, e.g. reviewer, conference organizer, etc.
