Job summary

Children's Health in Dallas, TX is seeking a Child Life Specialist to join the on-site Child Life team. This full-time role supports procedural prep, medical play, and family education within the hospital setting, aligned with the Association of Child Life Professionals guidelines.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, a Certified Child Life Specialist credential, and at least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Graduate or professional work or advanced degree preferred.
• Certified Child Life Specialist 1 1/2 Yrs required

Responsibilities

• Facilitates procedural and surgical preparation and support
• Provides medical play opportunities to promote desensitization and developmentally appropriate understanding for patients and family members
• Provides therapeutic play opportunities for patients and siblings in the playroom, at bedside and in patient care areas
• Utilizes appropriate tools to implement diagnosis education for patients and family members
• Creates and implements a developmentally appropriate plan for the facilitation of therapeutic interventions

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
