Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Child Life Specialist (PRN) to support pediatric patients and families in the Children's Emergency Department and Sunrise Children's Hospital. The role emphasizes developmental play, emotional support, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Child Life or related field, with 600-hour internship experience and a Certified Child Life Specialist credential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Counseling Psychology or related field.
• Completion of Child Life Internship (600 hours) required.
• Certified Child Life Specialist certification required.
• CPR - BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum one year experience with children in a health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental, psychosocial, emotional and cognitive support to hospitalized children and families.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct therapeutic play and learning experiences.
• Complete orientation checklist within 3 months of employment and offer social support.
• Support pediatric patients across the hospital and emergency department.
• Train pediatric volunteers and nursing staff on social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
