Job summary

Valley Children’s Healthcare in Central California seeks a dedicated Child Life Specialist to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans addressing the psychosocial, behavioral, recreational, and educational needs of hospitalized and outpatient children.

You will collaborate with the medical team, support families, provide developmentally appropriate play and education, and coordinate bedside activities and events to comfort young patients.

Qualifications

• Education: College Degree - 4 year Child Life or related field (required).
• Masters Degree preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: CCLS - Certified Child Life Specialist and CLCC within 12 months (required).
• Internship: 600-hour internship prior to start (required).
• Skills: Bilingual Skills Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for psychosocial needs of pediatric patients.
• Coordinate with medical team to address developmental and educational needs.
• Provide recreational and therapeutic activities in hospital and outpatient settings.
