Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Child Life Specialist to support the psychosocial needs of patients and families in the 4K Hematology/Oncology unit, with inpatient and outpatient coverage. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree and certification as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS).

The position offers a 5K sign-on bonus, a full-time schedule (7:30 AM–4:00 PM), and a collaborative team focused on safety, compassion and excellence in pediatric care.

Responsabilités

• Gathers information and documents psychosocial needs of patients and families through meetings, nursing reports and consultations with medical staff.
• Ensures patients and families receive appropriate clinical services and medical plans; prepares families for medical events and discharge planning.
• Provides patients and families with developmental services including group activities and interventions.
• Maintains a safe activity room with materials and supplies to support play and interventions.
• Supervises orients and trains volunteers and interns to interact effectively with patients.

Summary: $5K SIGN ON BONUS, FT, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Salary: Most new hires start between $21.70-$27.10 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional Information: Meets the basic psychosocial and developmental needs of children and families to reduce the stress and anxiety accompanying hospitalization and other health care encounters. Position covers the 4K Hematology/Oncology inpatient unit with outpatient coverage.

5k Sign On Bonus Schedule: Mon–Fri or Mon–Thurs, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM. Includes occasional Sunday shifts in weekend rotation.

Responsibilities:

• Gathers information and document the psychosocial needs of patients and families through patient/family meeting, nursing report and consultation with medical staff.
• Ensures patients and families receive appropriate clinical services, medical plan, prepare families for medical events, assist with hospitalization and diagnosis, emotional support and discharge planning.
• Provides patients and families with developmental services including group activities and interventions.
• Maintains safe activity room with appropriate materials and supplies to make it conducive to play with documented attendance and interventions.
• Supervises, orients, and trains volunteers and Interns to provide quality interactions with patients.
• Provides positive, supportive, and cooperative attitude with customers and report suggestions for positive change.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
