Responsibilities

• Assess pediatric patients within 24 hours of admission or consultation.
• Develop and implement psychosocial care plans based on medical needs and development.
• Provide emotional and physical support to pediatric patients and families.
• Use therapeutic play, preparation, education, and self-expression activities.
• Help reduce stress and anxiety in the healthcare environment.
• Create a safe, supportive, healing environment for children and families.
• Educate patients and families about medical procedures and what to expect.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and care team members.
• Participate in child life programs, activities, and events.
• Support patients at various developmental stages and adapt interventions.

Hire Up Staffing is seeking a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) in Houston, TX to provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate support to pediatric patients and their families throughout their healthcare experience. Pay Rate: $27+/hour DOE (Depending on Experience) Schedule: Monday - Friday | Hours range between 6:30 AM-6:00 PM. Shifts will vary by coverage area.

What You'll Do

• Assess pediatric patients within 24 hours of admission or consultation.
