Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Seattle is seeking a full-time Child Development Center Teacher to plan and implement activities for an assigned classroom and support child growth and development. The role requires knowledge of early childhood education and the ability to relate well to children and families from diverse backgrounds.

The candidate will need AA or CDA, 2 years of experience, and complete HIV/Child Abuse training.

Qualifications

• AA degree required or CDA/certification equivalent in Early Childhood Education.
• Two years of work experience in a child care setting.
• 30 hours of STARS training within first 6 months of employment.
• CDC Teacher must have experience relating to children and families from diverse backgrounds.
• HIV and Child Abuse and Neglect training completion is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programming, including weekly lesson plans.
• Develop an anti-bias, culturally relevant curriculum.
• Set up environments to meet changing needs and stimulate curiosity.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning atmosphere.
• Provide information to parents about child development and progress.
• Participate in Sea Mar community events and Intergenerational Program.
