Job summary

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is seeking a Teacher's Aide to support Educare teachers in the classroom and help with the growth of children. This role offers weekly pay, health benefits, and opportunities for career growth.

You will monitor wellbeing and safety, assist with curriculum implementation, communicate with families, and maintain classroom records. Requires 18+ years, background check, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pass background check, physical, and drug test.
• Ability to move in various motions including bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting, pulling, and/or pushing.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing ~80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Supervises children while providing care and support; promotes positive interactions.
• Assists teachers with prepping and implementing curriculum and maintains a safe classroom environment.
• Records information for families and communicates with Supervisor on concerns.
• Notices injuries/incidents and completes forms; maintains confidentiality with families and staff.
• Remains calm and patient with children; follows behavior guide techniques and seeks help when needed.
• Maintains effective communication with children, customers, and employees while ensuring high-quality service and confidentiality.
• Keeps the classroom safe, maintains records, cleanliness, and sanitizes equipment.
• Supports evacuation and emergency procedures.
