Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implement the care, and activities of children in residence and manage all activities of the childcare component.
• Implement Drug & Alcohol early intervention/prevention activities for the children.
• Provide individual and group counseling for the children/mothers; monitor emotional/psychological status of children and arrange/recommend referrals to ancillary clinical services when indicated.
• Assist in conducting mother-child and family therapeutic sessions in conjunction with other clinical staff.
• Maintain clinical records and confidentiality for the Child Care component.
• Provide training and guidance to adult residents in childcare and parenting skills; observe parent/child interactions and advise on adjustments.
• Monitor educational progress of the children and coordinate with school; arrange tutoring when necessary.

Location:

House of Healing - Erie, PA

Compensation:

$15.83 per hour with excellent benefits!

Monday - Friday - flexible to work rotating 8:00am - 4:00pm

Weekends if needed to assist with a scheduled outing for the women and children.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of child care, prevention activities, and early childhood development.
• Knowledge of the basic principles, practices, and procedures involved in an alcohol and drug program.
• Knowledge of the drug and alcohol abusing subculture.
• Knowledge of the physical and emotional characteristics and manifestations of alcohol and drug dependency.
• Knowledge of individual and group behavior and the effective ways of working with them.
• Ability to work effectively with people and aid them in adjusting to specific problems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with clients, and other members of staff, outside agencies and institutions, and the general public.

Your Responsibilities In This Role May Include

• Implement the care, and activities of children in residence and manage all activities of the childcare component
• Implement Drug & Alcohol early intervention/prevention activities for the children
• Continue specialized training as designated by the Supervisor
• Provide individual and group counseling for the children/mothers; monitor emotional/psychological status of children and arrange/recommend referrals to ancillary clinical services when indicated
• Assist in conducting mother-child and family therapeutic sessions in conjunction with other clinical staff
• Maintain clinical records and correspondence concerning the children and ensure compliance with all confidentiality procedures of the Child Care component
• Maintain contact with outside agencies and consulting/information resources as necessary for the continuing development and improvement of the Child Care component
• Provide training and guidance to adult residents in childcare and parenting skills; observe parent/child interactions in daily settings and advise on recommended adjustments
• Participate in regular consultations with other clinical staff concerning mother/child relationships, and the problems and needs of the children
• Monitor educational progress of the children and maintain contact with school; arrange tutoring when necessary; maintain dialogue with mothers concerning educational needs and progress of children
• Maintain valid driver's license.
• Other duties as assigned by Program Director or Recovery Support Supervisor.
