Job summary

Bright Horizons in the Seattle area is seeking a dedicated child care educator to join our team for a full-time role. The position runs 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with in-person work required in the Seattle, WA area.

You will design hands-on activities, communicate regularly with parents about milestones, and maintain a safe, clean classroom following established procedures. Experience in early education and a CDA or related degree is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ with HS diploma or GED.
  • Preferred CDA or college coursework in early childhood education.
  • One year of professional experience in child care or preschool preferred.

Job description

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED (required)
  • College‑level coursework in early childhood education, CDA, or an associate or bachelor's degree in early education or a related field (preferred)
  • 1 year of professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, or preschool settings (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children (required)
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, or hold children with a range of weight from 10 to 40 pounds; occasionally lift, carry, or hold weight more than 40 pounds
  • Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities
  • Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
  • Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements

Compensation

Hourly rate: $24.75 – $30.20. Actual compensation offers will depend on experience, education, and other factors.
