Job summary

Veracity Ventures Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Child Care Teacher to support children from 6 weeks through 6 years in a collaborative early childhood education team.

You will plan age-appropriate activities, document development, maintain safety, and communicate with families while participating in ongoing staff development. This role is onsite, with a 7.5-hour shift, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of formal childcare experience.
• Experience working with children 6 weeks–6 years old.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing classroom needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate learning activities.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and motor development.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Use play, exploration, and creativity to encourage learning and independence.
• Observe and document children's developmental progress.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and teaching teams.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and daily activities.
• Maintain classroom safety, cleanliness, organization, and supplies.
• Follow childcare licensing, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers, team leaders, supervisors, and directors.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and special projects.

Are you passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and thrive? We’re looking for Child Care Teachers to join a collaborative early childhood education team supporting children from 6 weeks through 6 years of age.

Education Requirements

Candidates should meet one of the following:

• Associate/2-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, Psychology, or a related field
• High School Diploma/GED + 40 hours of Early Childhood Education or related coursework
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

• Experience with infants and toddlers (6 weeks–2 years)
• Familiarity with the Reggio-inspired approach
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
