Job summary

Philia Home Care is seeking experienced professional childcare providers to join our Back-Up Care team servicing families in the Washington, DC area. You will step into new homes with warmth, build rapport quickly, and create calm, engaging environments for children from infants to school age.

We value reliability, professionalism, and the ability to adapt to short-notice assignments. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, and you must pass a comprehensive background screen and have reliable

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional childcare experience.
• Adaptable and comfortable with short-notice assignments.
• Warm, composed, and naturally confident.
• Take pride in professionalism and presentation.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Able to pass a comprehensive background screening.
• Reliable transportation within Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for infants through school-aged children.
• Confidently enter new family environments with warmth and professionalism.
• Lead engaging play, creative activities, and structured routines.
• Supervise meals, naps, and transitions with care and intention.

• Communicate clearly with parents and Philia's team.
