Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated childcare assistant to support daily classroom operations under the supervision of the lead teacher. The role includes observing and documenting child development, preparing portfolios, and contributing to lesson planning aligned with STARS standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean learning environment, coordinating activities, and communicating effectively with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field is required.
• 2 years' experience with children or equivalent education/experience as determined by the company.
• National Sex Offender Registry is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily classroom functions under supervision by lead teacher/group supervisor.
• Maintain objective child observations and portfolios for each child.
• Plan individualized activities based on observations and state standards.
• Submit lesson plans weekly and document adaptations for IFSP/IEPs.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and proper diapering/toileting procedures per STARS guidelines.

Education

Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field
