Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Redding, CT is seeking a Teacher Assistant to work alongside teachers and families, providing a nurturing home-away-from-home environment for children from 6 weeks to 12 years, following NAEYC guidelines.

You will support classroom instruction, decorate spaces as needed, and ensure a warm, safe, and engaging setting for children to grow and explore, while communicating with parents and guardians about their child.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Must be able to work during regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorate classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm and safe, clean environment for children to grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child.

What will you be doing?

As a Teacher Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks – 12 years.
• Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorating inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
