Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Newtown is seeking a Teacher Assistant to join our team. You will work alongside teachers and families to provide a welcoming, safe environment for children from 6 weeks to 12 years, following NAEYC guidelines.

You will support instruction, decorate classrooms, maintain a clean, nurturing space, engage children in activities, and communicate with parents. No evenings or weekends; full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
• Assist teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorate inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm and safe environment that is clean and promotes growth.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Provide effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.

What will you be doing?

Responsibilities

As a Teacher Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
• Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorating inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
