Responsibilities

Create syllabi, tests, and other documents in collaboration with the Behavioral and Social Science Dean and Teacher Education Department Coordinator.
Deliver full sessions of instruction as assigned and review course materials with students.
Assess student outcomes through exams, quizzes, and other assignments; provide timely feedback.
Communicate with students to support learning and refer to available services as needed.
Submit attendance, grades, and other information on time per Academic Affairs requirements.
Adhere to FERPA and college policies; follow the College's procedures and duties.

Job Description

Teacher Education and Child Care Instructors provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to their students, focusing on ensuring students achieve the necessary skills mandated by course curricula and successfully meet course objectives. Instructors may be required to evaluate students’ performance by verifying their understanding of the course material, competency of learned skills, and their ability to demonstrate applied knowledge. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Working with the Behavioral and Social Science Dean and Teacher Education Department Coordinator in creating syllabi, tests, and other documents related to instruction.
Preparing and distributing class syllabus and reviewing with students.
Delivering a full session of instruction as assigned.
Assessing student outcomes through exams, quizzes, and other graded assignments where appropriate.
Communicating with students to support learning and goal achievement; referring students to services available to them as needed.
Submit required attendance, grades, and other information on time based on the requirements of the Academic Affairs division.
Adhering to FERPA records protection laws.
Following the College's practices and procedures and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

This job opening is for both online and in-person instruction.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.
