Job summary

The North Suburban Center for Anxiety is seeking a child and adolescent therapist to join our growing practice in Northbrook, IL. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based treatments (CBT, ERP, ACT) to children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, OCD and related disorders.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop tailored treatment plans, and coordinate with families, schools, and other providers to ensure consistent care and sustained progress.

Qualifications

• Licensed mental health professional in one of the following areas: Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Experience with children as young as 8, adolescents, young adults and adults.
• Experience in evidence-based training (e.g. CBT, ERP, ACT).
• Experience working with anxiety disorders, OCD and related disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based treatments (CBT, ERP, and ACT) for anxiety disorders, OCD and related disorders for children, adolescents, and adults.
• Conduct initial, comprehensive assessment that evaluates a client's history, functioning, presenting concerns, and treatment goals.
• Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plan that is tailored to meet their needs.
• Communicate regularly with families, schools, and other clinical providers to provide consistency of care and to help maintain treatment gains.
• Work as an integral member of a growing team to enhance the mission of our practice.
• Contribute to monthly blog posts and assist with social media, as needed.

The North Suburban Center for Anxiety is seeking a child and adolescent therapist to join our growing practice. Established in 2017, the North Suburban Center for Anxiety specializes in using cognitive behavior therapy to treat individuals of all ages with anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, and depression.

The North Suburban Center for Anxiety is committed to providing research-supported and results-oriented treatment. We believe that how individuals think and behave directly affect how they feel. Therefore, we use a compassionate, collaborative, and direct approach to empower clients with the necessary skills to modify their irrational thoughts, confront their maladaptive fears, and decrease their overall anxiety. By the end of treatment, our goal is that clients have learned the essential tools to master their anxiety or OCD and are living a more fulfilling life.

About the Role:

• Provide evidence-based treatments (CBT, ERP, and ACT) for anxiety disorders, and OCD and related disorders for children, adolescents, and adults

• Demonstrated training providing evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure & Response Prevention, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
• Strong experience in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, and depression
• Commitment to ongoing learning and evidence-based practice
• Desire to work at least two evenings per week
• Desire and eventual ability to build caseload up to 15-20 clients/week (part time) or 20-25 clients/week (full-time)
• Willingness to network, collaborate and build referral sources

Education and Training

• Master’s or Doctoral level degree and licensed mental health professional in one of the following areas: Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
• Recent graduates with relevant training will be considered if they have:
  • Experience engaging with clients including children as young as 8 years old, adolescents, young adults and adults
  • Experience in evidence-based training (e.g. CBT, ERP, ACT)
  • Experience working with anxiety disorders, OCD and related disorders
