Job summary

Preferred Behavioral Health Group in Brick, NJ is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse - Children’s to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic impressions, and medication management under supervision of a collaborating physician. This role serves children and adolescents ages 5 to 21.

You will work in the PCCF - Children’s program, coordinate with multiple departments across the agency, and contribute to trauma-informed care—while delivering comprehensive mental health services in a full-time,

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in New Jersey with active NJ licensure and CDS/DEA eligibility.
• Experience working with child/adolescent populations is required.
• Board certification or ANCC credential in psychiatric/mental health nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and subsequent psychiatric assessments and prescribes/monitors medications under physician supervision.
• Provides education on medication needs, dosages, administration, and potential adverse reactions.
• Trains and consults with program staff on treatment plans and service provision.
• Demonstrates ability to work with diverse diagnosis ranges and coordinate care across departments.
• Maintains accurate medication records and includes patient/family in treatment decisions.
