Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership in multi-unit restaurant/hospitality/retail environments
• Experience scaling a technology organization through major growth inflection points
• Hands-on with restaurant POS platforms (NCR Aloha) and kitchen display systems
• Experience integrating delivery, catering, and online ordering platforms (Olo, EZ Cater)
• ERP / WMS experience (NetSuite) with familiarity in commissary/production environments
• Track record building IT service management and scalable support models
• Strong systems integration and data architecture background
• Experience in privately owned or founder-led companies preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree a plus

• Lead enterprise technology investments including platform strategy, vendor selection, contracts, and build-vs-buy decisions
• Establish governance, architecture standards, and scalable operating principles to support long-term growth
• Own restaurant technology strategy including POS, KDS, digital ordering, and catering platforms
• Build a scalable field technology support model for new restaurant openings
• Lead technology for commissary operations, NetSuite warehouse management, and connected systems
• Establish an enterprise data ecosystem with BI capabilities and master data governance
• Own infrastructure, cloud services, networking, cybersecurity, IT operations; implement ITSM with scalable processes
• Foster cross-functional partnerships and translate technology strategy into business value

Job description

Pressed Cafe is entering an exciting phase of growth, with plans to more than double its footprint over the next three years. As we scale, technology will be a critical enabler of operational excellence, guest experience, and long-term enterprise value. We are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead the evolution of our technology ecosystem and build the scalable foundation that will support the company's next stage of growth.

The Chief Technology Officer will have enterprise-wide responsibility for technology strategy and execution, including restaurant technology, digital platforms, enterprise applications, data and integrations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT service management. Partnering closely with the Co-Founder & CEO, CFO, and executive leadership team, the CTO will develop and execute a multi-year technology strategy that accelerates growth, improves operational efficiency, and creates a seamless, connected technology environment across the business.

This is a transformational leadership opportunity for a technology executive who has successfully scaled complex, multi-unit restaurant or retail organizations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in restaurant technology, including point-of-sale, kitchen display, digital ordering, and back-office systems, along with a proven ability to architect and implement modern, integrated technology platforms that anticipate growth rather than react to it. Success in this role requires equal parts strategic vision and operational execution, with the ability to translate technology investments into measurable business outcomes while building an organization positioned to support Pressed Cafe's long-term ambitions.

DIRECT REPORTS: Restaurant Technology (POS/KDS), Data & Systems Integration, Infrastructure & Security, IT Service Management / Help Desk

UNIT GROWTH: 11 high-volume locations today, doubling in under 3 years

CURRENT TECH STACK: NCR Aloha POS, Olo, EZ Cater, NetSuite (commissary), and a series of standalone legacy systems

LOCATION: Nashua, NH (on-site, with regular restaurant (NH&MA) and commissary travel)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Chief Technology Officer provides enterprise leadership across four core functions: Restaurant Technology, Data & Systems Integration, Infrastructure & Security, and IT Service Management. This role is accountable for building the technology foundation that enables Pressed Cafe to scale while delivering a best-in-class team member and guest experience.

TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY & ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE

• Partner with the Co-Founder & CEO, CFO, and executive team to develop and execute a multi-year technology strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives.
• Design a modern, integrated technology ecosystem spanning restaurant operations, digital ordering, commissary, supply chain, finance, and corporate systems.
• Lead enterprise technology investments, including platform strategy, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Establish technology governance, architecture standards, and scalable operating principles that support long-term growth.

RESTAURANT TECHNOLOGY

• Own the strategy, performance, and evolution of restaurant technology, including NCR Aloha POS, kitchen display systems, digital ordering, and catering platforms.
• Optimize high-volume restaurant workflows and kitchen technology to improve speed, accuracy, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Build a scalable field technology support model that ensures operational excellence as new restaurants open.

COMMISSARY, SUPPLY CHAIN & ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS

• Lead the technology strategy supporting commissary operations, including the transition to a new manufacturing facility and NetSuite warehouse management capabilities.
• Integrate restaurant, commissary, purchasing, inventory, and finance systems into a connected operating environment.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain leadership to ensure technology enables continued growth and operational scalability.

DATA, INTEGRATION & BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

• Establish an enterprise integration strategy that creates a trusted, connected data ecosystem across all core business platforms.
• Develop reporting and business intelligence capabilities that provide timely, actionable insights for operational and executive decision-making.
• Implement master data governance that ensures consistency, accuracy, and scalability across the enterprise.

INFRASTRUCTURE, SECURITY & IT OPERATIONS

• Own enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, networking, cybersecurity, and technology operations across restaurants, the commissary, and the corporate office.
• Build an IT service management function with scalable support processes, service levels, and self-service capabilities.
• Ensure technology environments meet appropriate security, compliance, resiliency, and business continuity standards.

LEADERSHIP

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technology organization capable of supporting the company's long-term growth.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team, translating technology strategy into measurable business value.
• Foster strong cross-functional partnerships across Operations, Finance, Purchasing, Marketing, and People to deliver integrated business solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with significant time in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail environments.
• Direct experience scaling a technology organization and infrastructure through a major growth inflection point, e.g., a comparable doubling of unit count or similar step-change in scale.
• Hands-on experience with restaurant POS platforms (NCR Aloha or comparable) and kitchen display systems, including complex, high-volume order-routing environments.
• Experience integrating delivery, catering, and online ordering platforms (Olo, EZ Cater, or comparable) into POS and kitchen workflows.
• ERP / WMS experience, ideally NetSuite, with familiarity in manufacturing or commissary/production environments a strong plus.
• Track record designing and standing up IT service management / ticketing infrastructure and scalable support models.
• Strong systems integration and data architecture background, with demonstrated ability to bring standalone systems together into one connected ecosystem.
• Experience in a privately owned or founder-led company strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; advanced technical or business degree a plus.

COMPENSATION & LOCATION

This role is based on-site in Nashua, New Hampshire, with regular travel to restaurant and commissary locations. Pressed Cafe offers a competitive executive compensation package commensurate with experience.
