Job summary

KBR seeks a Chief Systems Engineer to lead cross-disciplinary requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, and analysis for NSG/ASG and Federal Agencies to ensure timely GEOINT. You will oversee senior- to junior-level contractor systems engineers and advise on strategic technical planning and design across DoD/IC programs.

The role requires 18+ years in systems engineering, a Master’s degree or higher in a related STEM field, and an active TS/SCI with poly.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a Polygraph.
• Expert-level experience with DoD/IC Acquisition Process, PPBES, and requirements.
• Experience in large complex System of Systems or Cloud environments.
• Exposure to MBSE and digital engineering concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, and analysis across NSG, ASG and Federal Agencies.
• Plan and analyze user requirements, architecture traceability, and automation opportunities.
• Advise on proposed changes to solution designs based on requirements and new tech.
• Translate mission needs into system/capability requirements and solutions.
• Support allocation of requirements to architecture components and programs.
• Coordinate systems integration activities.
• Lead AoAs, CoAs, Trade Studies, and engineering assessments.
• Engage in strategic technical planning, risk management and interface design.
• Provide expert government advisory on vision, strategy and capability development.

This is a contingent position based upon contract award.

KBR is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer to support a procurement providing Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support to an IC/DoD government customer within the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

The Chief Systems Engineers will assist in leading engineering teams in taking a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the NSG, ASG and Federal Agencies to ensure timely and accurate GEOINT.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the Government in directing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the NSG, ASG and Federal Agencies.
• Assist with the planning, analysis/traceability of user requirements, architecture traceability, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
• Advise the Government on proposed changes to the solution designs based on analysis of requirements and new technology.
• Assist the Government in the capture and translation of mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
• Support the analysis and allocation of requirements to systems architecture components and executing programs.
• Assist the Government in performing systems integration activities.
• Assist in leading AoAs, CoAs, Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
• Assist the Government in strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management and interface design.
• Provide expert advice to the Government in the areas of relating vision, strategy, plans, needs, requirements, process, and capability developments.
• Assis the government in modernization of infrastructure and capabilities.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level contractor Systems Engineers.

Required Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience
• Master’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree.
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a Poly required
• Expert-level experience in relevant work areas including DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, Planning Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES)
• Process, or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
• Expert-level experience with systems engineering lifecycle.
• Extensive experience within the DoD/IC.

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with MBSE, processes, tools and languages.
• Software Development Framework certification.
• INCOSE Expert System Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
• Demonstrated experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.
• Demonstrated experience in the development of Digital Engineering Ecosystems and Digital Twins.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and other IC Enterprises.

Additional Compensation

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
