Job summary

STR is seeking a Chief Strategist to drive a cohesive strategy across the company, aligning sensing, autonomy, and intelligence programs with customer engagements and proposals. The role spans multiple STR sites and leadership with duties in marketing, business development, and staff mentoring.

You will shape strategy for space-based and RF/EO/IR systems, work with government customers, and develop program concepts and opportunities while advancing national security objectives.

About the Team

STR is seeking a Chief Strategist to work across the company to develop a cohesive strategy and direction for technical execution, pursuits, customer relationships and accounts. As part of this role, the qualified candidate will provide review across critical portfolios of sensing and counter-sensing programs, particularly in the development of strategy around space-based sensing, long-range sensing and targeting, and related technologies for RF and EO/IR systems, algorithms and autonomy. In addition, the Chief Strategist will map the strategy to customer engagement plans/execution centered around key technologies and new program concepts, ideas and proposals.

The position will have a significant and immediate impact on our national security by leveraging capabilities, expertise and experience from across STR. The Chief Strategist will operate across the various sites of the company and different organizational divisions of STR. They will also be responsible for all aspects of the business process, working closely with other leaders and will include technical marketing, business development, proposal writing, recruiting, program execution and staff mentoring.

The Chief Strategist should have experience across the important technologies, including space-based/remote sensing, military and intelligence missions and CONOPs, RF and EO/IR systems, along with a proven track record of delivering quality results to customers in the Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Communities (IC).

Who you Are:

• Experience working with the Department of War (or Intelligence Community) on space sensing and counter-sensing related technology
• Entrepreneurial spirit eager to engage in technical marketing and business development
• Proven track record in writing and winning technical proposals15+ years of relevant experience in military and/or intelligence comunities
• Substantial experience leading technical teams on advanced R&D programs (e.g., Air Force, Navy, Army, DARPA and IC research projects)
• Experience developing innovative sensing solutions with new space-based, airborne and terrestrial sensors, systems and multi-domain architectures
• Motivated collaborator and effective communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Active Security Clearance at the TS level and eligibility for SCI clearance, for which U.S citizenship is needed by the U.S government

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $250,000 - $350,000

The salary range listed is based on external market data. Offers are based on factors, such as but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills/critical skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
