Job summary

Democracy Fund is seeking a mature, dynamic leader to be our first Managing Director of Movements & Media to oversee our Just & Inclusive Society as well as Public Square Programs. This role reports to Democracy Fund’s President and sits on the Executive Team and Grants Committee.

You will independently lead one of the organization’s two program groups, partnering with the Managing Director of Elections & Institutions to ensure measurable impact across initiatives.

• Experience leading program Directors and teams.
• Strong management and leadership capabilities.
• Proven track record of collaboration with peers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Lead one of the organization’s two program groups and oversee initiatives in Movements & Media and related programs.
• Report to the President and serve on the Executive Team and Grants Committee.
• Mentor Program Directors and their teams, guiding initiative plans, grantees, and partnerships.
• Drive organization-wide strategy development, management, and decision making.
• Cultivate influential partnerships with peer donors and other key actors to grow Democracy Fund’s profile.
